We believe in supporting local and giving back

Our family believes it is important to give back and get involved in our community. On this page you will find information about our participation and involvement in community events and initiatives!

2024 Grand Valley Fall Fair

We had so much fun last year that we decided to join in on the fun again this year. The fall fair is all about celebrating agriculture in our community. Dr. Sam is naturally drawn to this as she grew up on a wheat and canola farm! This year we did our facepainting again on Saturday as well as toy giveaways for the kids. Arthur tagged along again and always enjoys the attention from the kids. After this we got to enjoy spending some time together at the fair watching the tractor pull while enjoying a meal from the food vendors. We finished the day off by checking out some of the entertainment.

2024 Grand Valley Minor Hockey Twisters Sportsguard Clinic

This year was our first time being open before hockey season so we hosted a sportsguard clinic for our local twisters, providing mouthguards free of charge to those playing in our local leagues. We had fun decorating the office and were able to provide 30+ sportsguards for local players. We wish our twisters all the best this coming season!

Proud Supporters of our Local Food Bank

Our office recognizes the importance of the foodbank in our community that is run by local volunteers. This year we donated toothbrushes to be given away at the local Grand Valley Foodbank to those in need in our community.

Duck Day 2024

Duck Day in the Valley was once again a huge success, we weren't sure if the weather would cooperate but the sun came out at just the right time. This year our office sponsored a dunk tank. Local business owners, community leaders as well as Dr. Sam volunteered to be dunked as a fundraiser. All money raised our office donated to the Grand Valley Lions Club to go towards community initiatives that they support right here in Grand Valley. We were able to raise over $700 in just a few hours and with a lot of laughs along the way! We hope to make the Dunk Tank an even bigger hit next year. Below is a picture of Dr. Sam right before she was dunked! If you want to see the rest of the participants being dunked, be sure to check out our facebook or instagram page to watch the reel we posted!

Hop on Main 2024

We participated in the BIA's "Hop on Main" this year handing out Easter  goodies on Easter weekend! We had fun seeing all the kiddos out and the weather was great!

Hockey Day in Grand Valley 2023

Jeff and I attended hockey day again this year and were super impressed with the show of community support for our twisters! We watched the skills competition and I participated in the coaches game for the first time this year. We believe supporting minor hockey in our community is very important and we look forward to continuing to sponsor our twisters again next year!

Grand Valley Santa Claus Parade 2023

We were not yet open but decided to put a float in the parade to join in this wonderful community event to get everyone in the Christmas spirit! It was such a fun night and we got to see so many familiar faces in the crowd along main street. Jeff and I decided to dress up as elves and our costumes kept us nice and warm. We can't wait for next year!

Community Helpers Program - hosted by the Grand Valley Public Library - November 2023

The Grand Valley Public Library runs programs on Friday mornings for young kids to get to interact with professionals within the community. We participated in this program with a dental theme, of course! We read some dental related stories including a classic Robert Munsch. We also sang songs and did a tooth craft which the kids got to take home. We practiced counting teeth on Mr. Dinosaur and doing his checkup!

2023 Masquerade on Main hosted by the BIA:

Jeff and I were excited to participate in the Masquerade on Main this year! It was a beautiful day with so many kids out in creative costumes. Jeff and I dressed up as Mickey and Minnie mouse while Arthur was a cowboy!

Grand Valley Public Library- Coffee, Tea & Connection

This October we were happy to participate in one of the Friday afternoon coffee, tea and connection events. I had fun giving a talk about both our practice, as well as some oral health tips. We had a great discussion afterwards with many oral health questions! It was so nice to see some familiar faces, and meet some new ones as well!

Grand Valley Fall Fair 2023

This year we attended the Grand Valley Fall Fair! While this is not our first time at the fair, this was our first time having a table set up with our office. We enjoyed offering face painting for the kiddos in the community as well as a number of giveaways. After we were finished at our booth we got to enjoy the tractor pull, exhibits as well as some of the food from the local vendors!

2023 Grand Valley Farmers Market:

This year we attended the Grand Valley Farmers market! We enjoyed shopping local and getting to know other local businesses and community groups. Here is Dr. Sam and her dog (Arthur) at the third market of the summer. We can't wait for the return of the market next year!
